Sahyadri cleaning campaign

The only living witness to the power of Chhatrapati Shivaji and Shambhu Maharaj is the “Sahyadri”.

Hundreds of forts, as many ancient ghats, innumerable animals, birds and flowers are floating on the shoulders of the Sahyadri.

Contrary to what is happening, the forts and forts near the big cities have become the strongholds of the drunkards. It takes. The drunkards sit here to drink alcohol, thinking that it is the place of their own pilgrimage, with a glass of wine and a glass. In these Talirams, everyone from the hungry people of the surrounding villages to the urban four-wheelers are there.

The people who have come to spend their days in the company of nature are satisfied with the empty bottles, wafers and chewing gum that have been emptied and thrown away in the open.

How many days will you watch such Sahyadri Saseholpat?.? And this is how it goes, you can’t do it alone, so if you spend more time, you will have nothing but regrets.

With all this in mind, an idea came to my mind to clean the historical Pabe gorge in Sinhagad valley by working hard. Cleaning the gorge is not the work of two alone, so I decided to take the help of wandering friends and social networking site Facebook. I had a phone call with some friends, posted about a job on Facebook. There was no expectation that many people would gather. Bringing bags of manure to collect the bottles, took 1-2 bags each and started the work at 8 in the morning by dividing the Pabe gorge into different parts.

Nearby bottles were piled up, but some petty drunkards drank and threw the bottles on the slopes as far as they could. It was not easy to leave them like that. The soil will be visible but the inside will be filled with plastic and glass bottles. We decided to go down the slope and pick up the bottles as well. It was true, but today the urge to release the trapped breath of Pabe Khindi kept giving us strength from within.

We picked up about 10-12 bags of plastic and liquor bottles from Pabe Khindi.

We have become so obsessed with history and nature that we don’t even know what to do.

Today, the cleansing of Pabe Ghat was completed without any idea of the price to be paid for this sin (yes, history of sin – destruction of nature is sin). The topic was picked up by a number of eco-friendly churches ……… the subject had made a home in people’s minds but the idea had to take the form of a movement before it took root in their minds on the phone with all the friends who picked up the topic on social networking sites. Discussed in detail, came up with a concise plan of work, spontaneously built a mass of Mavals from different cities working for forts.

And from this was born “Sahyadri Safai Abhiyan”. The rules are simple.

We would form a small group of volunteers from our village, select the nearest used fence or fort and one day we would work hard to get rid of the plastic and liquor bottles in the area where we are going to work …… the important thing is ) Was an important punishment to be thrown.

One by one Pune (Madhe Ghat-Pabe Ghat) -Kolhapur (Panhala) -Satara (Kas Plateau) -Chiplun (Ancient Shiva Temple) -Mahad (Mangad Shiva Temple) -Pratapgad-Historical Kusur Ghat were formed.

Sterilized hand gloves were also provided to avoid any inconvenience to the hand or body while picking up the bottle-plastic waste lying under it for several days.

Volunteers were allowed to work according to their schedule.

The spark of Sahyadri cleaning in Pabe Ghat was slowly turning into a bright torch. The Sahyadri cleaning campaign in Madhe Ghat became an artisan by all means.
