Marathidesha Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the Sahyadri region’s rich heritage and natural resources. We focus on conserving the majestic Sahyadri mountains, historic forts, and unique flora and fauna, while also supporting underprivileged children with education, healthcare, and opportunities for a brighter future. Through sustainable initiatives and community involvement, we aim to protect the region’s legacy and empower lives.

Uniting Maharashtra to Protect Sahyadri’s Treasures: Environment, Wildlife, and Heritage

Gathered from different parts of Maharashtra to save the environment, tree resources, wildlife, forts, ghats in Sahyadri, we, the nomadic community from different regions, have been running library movement, Shiv Sahyadri Granthadindi in schools in remote areas of Sahyadri for the last few years. Along with the library movement, we are working on many topics like fort conservation, Samadhya-Veergali conservation, tree planting, wildlife conservation etc.

Rebuilding Lives: Helping Maharashtra’s Flood Survivors

In response to last year’s devastating floods in Maharashtra, our co-operative society launched the ‘One Hand for Flood Victims’ campaign. We provided essential relief, distributing food grains, clothes, and other necessities to support those affected by the disaster.
